Lindemans Kriek is a fruit beer which, during production, benefits from the addition of fruit before being left to age in oak barrels. This allows the fruit to infuse throughout the beer and triggers secondary fermentation during the maturation process. The result is a light red beer with an enormous frothy pink head. The whole thing is laced with considerable effervescence. The aroma that it releases is very sweet and is completely dominated by the scent of cherries. Cherry is also the dominant flavour on the palate but with a woody background and with acidic notes too. This beer is particularly popular among female drinkers thanks to its lightness and supremely fruity aroma.
