Faro is a style of beer born after the generalization of ancient traditions that consisted in adding sugar to a gueuze. This sweetened the beers that were traditionally sweet-sour. Lindemans Faro is a spontaneously-fermented wheat beer with a sweet-sour taste that is perfectly balanced out by the addition of an extra dose of sugar candy. It is red-orange in colour and topped by a fine head of white foam. It reveals woody, sweet-sour aromas of fruit, dried fruits, caramel and sugar candy. There is a hint of acidity on the palate which is accompanied by sweet, sugary notes of fruit and slight hints of woodiness.
